BEDFORDSHIRE & LUTON REFERRAL FORMS

CHUMS REFERRAL CRITERIA

Referral links for the following CHUMS services can be found at the bottom of each service webpage:

PLEASE NOTE that CHUMS Emotional Wellbeing Service is no longer commissioned by ELFT. However, CHUMS services continue and we look forward to updating you shortly with our new offers.

The easiest way of accessing direct support is via a self-referral into our CAMHS Single Point of Entry (SPOE) team (this includes all professional EHCP requests). The specialist clinical team triage all referrals on a daily basis and allocate according to risk into the most appropriate clinical pathway within the system – this may include signposting to a range of self-help apps and / or work with other CVS partners who are best placed to offer specialist support to meet individual needs. Details on how to refer into SPOE are provided in the below links:

South Bedfordshire/Luton CAMHS | East London NHS Foundation Trust (elft.nhs.uk)

North Bedfordshire CAMHS | East London NHS Foundation Trust (elft.nhs.uk)

In addition to referring into SPOE, our CAMHS Access Pathway has never been more accessible than it is today with a number of mental health clinicians aligned to GP practices, based within local schools and the increasing development of the Mental Health Support Teams across boroughs.

To support families waiting well and develop resilience there is a range of useful psychoeducation programmes; evidenced based self-help apps and our CAMHS Discovery College prospectus are all available on our website for families to access. Details are provided in the link below:

There may be other entry points to accessing support depending on clinical need, this may include accessing crisis support on 111 option 2 or if you require medical intervention the local A&E dept. where you will also be assessed via our CAMHS crisis pathway once medically fit.

We acknowledge this is a change across the local system but wish assure partners that we remain committed to quality and safety, if anyone wishes to discuss further please do not hesitate to contact us directly.

ELFT wish to thank all colleagues across all services, but particularly CHUMS for their exceptional levels of professionalism over the last 10 years of our partnership together.
